How to get here
by car
From Inverness
Follow the A82 all the way to Drumnadrochit (initially follow signs to Fort William if necessary) which will take about 20 minutes (30 minutes if you’re coming from the airport).
When you get to Drumnadrochit, go all the way through the village, still on the A82, until you pass a petrol station. Then take the next left – the street sign says East Lewiston. We are a few doors down on the left.
From Fort William
We are approximately 1hr 15mins from Fort William. Follow the A82 through Fort Augustus, then on through Invermoriston. A further 10 minutes’ drive will see you pass Urquhart Castle and then descend into the village of Drumnadrochit. Just as you enter the village you’ll see a brown sign for Loch Ness Backpackers Lodge. Take the first right, onto a small street labelled East Lewiston, and we are a few doors down on the left.
From Skye
We are about 1hr 20mins from the Skye Bridge. Follow signs for Inverness, until you arrive in Invermoriston. Continue in the direction of Inverness for another 10 minutes, now on the A82. You will pass Urquhart Castle and then descend into the village of Drumnadrochit. Just as you enter the village you’ll see a brown sign for Loch Ness Backpackers Lodge. Take the first right, onto a small street labelled East Lewiston, and we are a few doors down on the left.
by bus
Four different companies offer bus services to Drumnadrochit, from Inverness, Fort William and beyond. So the best website to use to plan your travel is http://www.travelinescotland.com/lts/#/travelInfo and go to the Journey Planner.
TIP: Instead of choosing Drumnadrochit as your destination, choose Lewiston, Before Borlum Bridge On A82. This will drop you right at the end of our road and save you a ten-minute walk (and remember to ask the driver when you get on if he’ll drop you there too).
Walk here
We are right on the Great Glen Way route – just follow the brown signs when you come down off the hills and you can’t miss us.
We are also an ideal starting point for the Affric–Kintail Way, which starts ten minutes from our door.
